Educational Foundation Member Making Impact

Danny Bridges is in his third year on the Educational Foundation board. When Danny Bridges, an executive with the engineering firm of McGill Associates, relocated to Hampton Roads in 2018, he looked for ways to form relationships with community partners. “I participated heavily in the chamber of commerce, attended a lot of their events and meetings and tried to meet people,” he said.

Baseball Player Honored by Award

Michael Adams shows off his award for being named the College's athlete of the year. When Michael Adams was considering Virginia Peninsula Community College, formerly Thomas Nelson, he wasn’t aware it had a baseball team. He was interested in becoming a firefighter and knew the College could put him on that path. A year later, after a successful baseball season for the Gators, he was named the College’s athlete of the year and was honored June 27 at the Peninsula Sports Club Headliner’s Night. “It was pretty cool,” he said of the honor.

Grand Rebranding Event July 12 at Virginia Peninsula Community College

Something new is hatching at Virginia Peninsula Community College – home of the Gators. Formerly Thomas Nelson, the College officially takes its new name July 1 and will publicly usher it in at noon on July 12 with a grand rebranding event. Open to the public, the historic two-hour event will take place on the Hampton campus at its tower near Interstate 64.

Camp Community College will hold a “One Stop Fun Registration Day” at the college’s Hobbs Suffolk Campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 25. The Hobbs Campus is located at 271 Kenyon Road.
