Hannah Căldăraru found her “anywhere” at Tidewater Community College. She got her start on TCC’s Chesapeake Campus in 2014 and earned a social sciences degree three years later. She also jumped into student life and was part of the Breakaway Bible club, serving as president for a year. Fast forward nine years and Hannah is a missionary in Romania. She and her husband, Tavi, serve children and teens in the villages there.

Camp Community College is poised to expand its Nursing & Allied Health offerings with a new facility in Franklin.
The college’s Real Estate Foundation purchased the former Tidewater News building in May with the help of partners Obici Healthcare Foundation and Hampton Roads Community Foundation.
The next step in the process is to renovate the building to make it a state-of-the-art learning center. On Wednesday, August 2, the Sentara Foundation presented a check to the PDCCC Real Estate Foundation for $450,000 toward renovation of the building.

Coastal Virginia Developers, a real estate development company headquartered in Portsmouth, VA, donated a property on Carolina Road in Suffolk to Camp Community College Real Estate Foundation, which will become the college’s Workforce Trades and Innovation Center.
The 10,000-square foot building will provide training for industry credentials for in-demand jobs. Programs at the new facility will include maritime trades and other infrastructure and skilled trades related programs.
A ceremony was held at City of Suffolk Council Chambers on Wednesday, August 2.

Beginning Friday, May 19, 2023 and ending Thursday, August 3, 2023, Paul D. Camp Community College will observe a summer operations schedule of 4½ days per week. The 4½ day work schedule will consist of four 8.75 hour days (8 hours, 45 minutes) Monday through Thursday and five (5) hours on Fridays.
Full-time employees must work a 40 hour per week schedule. Employee schedules are set at the discretion of the supervisor. Supervisors may approve alternate work schedules.
