The Virginia Peninsula Community College men’s basketball team fell into a big hole at halftime Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Apprentice School and eventually lost 84-51. Chris Hayes (14 points) and D’Cameron Haynes (10) were the only players for the Gators (4-2) in double figures. The Virginia Peninsula Community College men’s basketball team opened conference play with an 87-65 victory over Emory Oxford on Saturday, Nov. 18, at Warwick High School. In observance of Thanksgiving, Virginia Peninsula Community College will close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Campuses in Hampton and Williamsburg as well as satellite locations will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27.
