In accordance with Section 23.1-307 (D) of the Code of Virginia, the State Board for Community Colleges provides notice that it will consider tuition and mandatory fee increases for Virginia’s Community Colleges, effective fall 2023, at 9 a.m. on May 18, 2023, at the Virginia Community College System, System Office, 300 Arboretum Place, Richmond, VA 23236.
The State Board will consider mandatory tuition and fee increases of between 0 percent and 4.7 percent for all undergraduate students, subject to budget provisions of the 2023 General Assembly.

Camp Community College is sponsoring a memory collection event to celebrate the rich history of the former Smithfield High School at 235 James Street.
Come bring your memories, artifacts, and memorabilia to share and be a part of Isle of Wight County’s living history!
The event is scheduled for March 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Camp’s Smithfield Center, 235 James Street in Smithfield. There will be discussion and refreshments.

Thinking ahead to the 2023 Fall Semester, the online scholarship application for Camp Community College will open February 13. The deadline to apply for Fall 2023 scholarships is April 28.
Camp has scholarships for high school seniors entering college in the fall, current Camp students, and new students.
The application is at the Camp Community College website - https://www.pdc.edu/attend/paying-for-college/scholarships/.
For those thinking about applying for the fall semester, scholarships are a good way to reduce the cost of attending college.
Camp set to launch NJCAA men’s and women’s basketball programs; teams will compete in Suffolk (opens new window)

Camp Community College has launched a National Junior College Athletic Association men’s basketball program with the hiring of head coach Franklin Chatman. The team will begin competition in the Fall of 2023 in Suffolk.
The college is also pursuing a head coach for a women’s basketball program.
Coach Chatman, who played college basketball at Virginia State University, has 20 years of coaching experience and player development and over 120 college victories at American National University, Stratford University, and Newport News Apprentice School.

New athletics director and men's basketball coach, Chris Moore talked with athletes and their parents during an Aug.11 registration seminar at the Hampton campus in Wythe Hall. In addition to registering for fall classes, the athletes were able to meet representatives from advising, financial aid, the Office of Accessbility, Great Expectations, Single Stop, Student Life and Leadership and TRiO. Moore said nearly 40 student-athletes participated. In late April, the College announced plans to expand athletics by adding six sports in the next three years.

The morning closure will allow faculty and staff to engage in All College Day meetings and activities in preparation for the new academic year. Sessions will include an address by President Towuanna Porter Brannon and updates by members of the President’s Cabinet among other program highlights. During the closure, services such as registration will be available online.
